This site specific piece was created at PROGRAM Gallery Berlin, for the show titled: "Streams, torrents, lakes, glaciers, rocks, waterfalls, steep slopes, cliffs, peaks, firs, beeches, stumps, wind, storms, snow, sunrises, and sunsets, for example." Curated by Carson Chan, the concept was to respond to the physical architecture, while simultaneously working with illustionistic space. Further, the collaborating artists would work to create a panorama in the gallery, using a common horizon line. My interest with this piece was to work with three protruding corners of the wall, merging the foreground of the painting with the physical structure of the architecture. When viewed, the goal was that parts of the architecture would be enhanced physically and portions dematerialized. |
